COLUMBIA, SC - January 23, 2012 - The South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) is pleased to announce that technology entrepreneur, Jason Williamson, will address the student body as part of the School's SmartChat Speakers Series. His presentation will take place Monday, January 23, 4 p.m., on the GSSM campus in Hartsville. Williamson founded Ometric Corporation, a business based on Mulitvariate Optical Computing (MOC), a patented technology licensed from the University of South Carolina (USC).
Leading the Ometric sales and marketing team, Williamson successfully commercialized the MOC platform in a wide variety of industries including chemicals, mining and life science. Preceding his time with Ometric, he was vice president of community development for the South Carolina Technology Alliance, where he managed a statewide network of South Carolina technology entrepreneurs and worked as a technology issues liaison to the SC General Assembly.
